- Local community Leaders (Example: Philippines has “Barangay Captains in all sub-comminutes)
- Our Own Field Agents
This program is designed to make sure people are alerted when you are in trouble. You must have our app installed. Simply Click the Emergency button 3 times and Expat Protection is immediately alerted that you need assistance. We will do our best to contact you and assist you. Here is what happens:
- Upon Activation, an alert is sent to our 24 hour manned position. The app will then start to alert us every 5 mins with your GPS location until you turn the Emergency Alert off.
- We will try to contact you via the info you provided in your “Emergency Button Info” tab on your profile.
- If we cannot get a hold of you, we will immediately contact our lawyers, reps and/or field agents, as well as the local police in an effort to locate and assist you.
- Assessment of the Emergency will be conducted and if need be, we will contact your Embassy for additional assistance on your behalf
Reasons to use the Emergency Button: Stranded in an un-known area, Detainment or Arrest, Injury or death. *** Please note, this is not a replacement for local Medical or Police help, it is an assistance to. If you are in need of medical or physical help, please continue to seek assistance from the Local Police or Medical Personnel
Lifeline Verification Feature (toggle on or off at your convenience)
If you are traveling and want a bit of extra protection, you may enable this feature. When enabled, you can set up a schedule that will allow us to ping your phone and ask you if you are “Okay”. You will then have 1 hour to click “Yes” or “No” – If “No” or if no response, the Emergency Button will automatically Activate.
Personal Document Coordination Hub
This is a private repository so that you have access to your documents when you need them. You may also share access with 2 methods.
- Grant Access Method: You may add specific people to your repository. These individuals will only be able to download any documents you put in the repository. This is designed so if you are incapacitated, detained or injured, someone you trust will be able to get information when it is needed most.
- Email Sending: You may select documents and email them to anyone you wish. These people will receive an email with the document attached.
Pre-Retained Legal Counsel
If you are in an emergency or in need of counsel; you may immediately seek counsel from one of our Attorneys without any money up-front (up to 15 mins Consultation, limited to once a month, and only for new matters). Depending on your Membership Level you may be required to pay additional Fees for on-going legal services.
Emergency Response for Detainment/Arrest
If you are arrested or detained for any reason, upon our receiving of notification, we will immediately send an Attorney to initially represent you and try to quickly resolve the matter. NOTE: This is a good time to use the Emergency Button. Depending on your Membership Level you may be required to pay additional Fees for on-going legal services. NOTE: If you are in an area we do not have a retained attorney, we will still do our best to get an attorney to you ASAP, but may not always be possible.
Medical Assistance Program
Our medical assistance program is tied into the Emergency Button and utilizes your phone’s GPS. Once located our agents will contact local rescue personal for you to come assist you. We can not guarantee they will, but our agents will do as much as we can to get help to you. We do maintain a list of local police, hospital, city and town officials that we will contact to try direct them to you. However we can not guarantee they will arrive in time or be able to help
Family Coordination and Notification Assistance
We will use our network at our discretion to help notify your family of any adverse situation you are in, at your direction. If there is a situation that you are unreachable, we will act according to your pre-defined check-box in your “Emergency Button Info” tab as to whether or not you wish us to reach out to your Family in case of Emergency or Detainment.
Un-timely death Assistance Program
In the unfortunate instance of your un-timely death, Expat Protection will assign an Attorney to help represent your final wishes and give guidance on local procedures, customs, and regulations. Additionally, if you choose, we will notify your “Un-timely Death Contact” in your “Emergency Button Info” tab.

Discount For On-going Legal Matters
If you continue to use our “in-network” attorneys for on-going legal matter, you will receive a discount based on your membership Level.
Special Service Request
If you live in area and wish us to build a stronger network in that area, simply request us to grow our network. While we are always growing, we do give priority to areas that our Members are residing in.
These are services that are purchased in addition to your Membership. IE: Bodyguards, Maids and Drivers. When we fill these positions for you, you do not pay the Service Provider directly. Pay is facilitated via Expat Protection. In the interest of transparency, we pay the Service Provider 90% of what is paid to Expat Protection for their Service. When adding these services, Expat Protection will first consult you as the Member and find out your needs and requirements. Then we will set up times and interviews for you to decide which service provider you wish to use. NOTE *** All service providers are independent contractors; and as such are personally liable themselves for any damages or theft or breach of service in any way. However, we do evaluate and verify the good standing of each service provider.
Our Safe Place list is not a guarantee that they are safe. This list is designed for you to use in case of emergency. These are well lit places that are usually open 24 hours and are commonly known in the community.
NOTE: If you are in an area we do not have a retained attorney, field agent or someone in our network, we will still do our best to get an attorney to you ASAP, but may not always be possible. In these cases, please keep your Emergency Button Activated until we are able to contact you.
